Heya!

This is the part where you humor me through a lame intro... So! This is me:

Well... me two or three years ago but clearly a very upbeat point in my college career. (You know, that freshman phase where everything about college is new and exciting? I think any pics I have after this are slightly more jaded). I'll try not to overwhelm the page with pictures of myself though so I don't come off as narcissistic. Even though I totally am.

Anyway, I'm usually pretty stubborn when it comes to internet fads. I rarely get on facebook and almost never check my e-mail or put up a "status" update. Not that I think that stuff's awful, I'm just clinging to what I think is traditional and have this need to avoid trends. I'm also terrible at journaling and never had an interest in blogging until I realized that I've lost touch with a lot of friends and family. My siblings almost all have blogs so that they can keep people updated and I love reading about their lives. So I guess the purpose of this blog is to keep in touch with my family and some of my friends.

I came up with the title after I spent some time in Costa Rica this summer (I might blog about that later, I dunno). "Pura Vida" is sort of like "Hakuna Matata" there and people used it in daily conversation as a greeting or farewell. It was something I really loved about living there. It basically means "life is good" (the exact translation is "pure life", which I also think is kind of cool).

Anyway, if you're here of your own free will, welcome! And hopefully I don't bore you with details about what I'm doing in school and with my life. And we'll see how this blogging thing goes...
